Life Memories is a digital Memory Book where you can collect and preserve the moments that matter most in your life – using both photos and text. A personal space to relive the joy of your own experiences and selectively share them with the people you care about — without the influence of ads and algorithms. You can keep your memories private, share them with family and friends, or co-create memory books together, where everyone can contribute photos and text. By using Tags, you can quickly and easily find the memories you wish to see.
Understanding the Structure
• You collect your memories in memory books. You can create books for every chapter of your life – family, friends, travel, work, hobbies, and more. You can find your Memory Books in your library. • When you open a book, you can scroll through an overview of all the memories in that book — like a table of contents. • When you have opened a memory, you can swipe through the other memories in the book — like flipping through the pages of a book. • Tags are an important part of the app. They make it easy and quick to find the memories you want to revisit. So, do yourself a favour and start using them right from the beginning! For further information on the two different types of tags, and how to create and use them, please see: Tags • To edit or change something, tap the pencil icon. • To create or add something new – such as a memory, book, or tag – tap the plus icon. • On every page in the app, you will find a circle with a question mark. When you tap this icon, you will find information and a description of the functions on that particular page. We recommend reviewing this information on each page to get the most out of the app.

Memory Wall
The Memory Wall is the apps "Home page". Which is the first tab in the bottom navigation bar. Here you will see a mix of photos from all your memory books. The page updates itself every minute, and new memories will appear. You decide how many memories you want displayed on your memory wall - and whether you want them displayed as a large photo - as a memory with text and photo - or as a photo carousel. You can change these settings by tapping the profile icon in the top right corner and selecting "Memory Wall settings".
GOOD TO KNOW You can swipe the memories shown on your Memory Wall to bring up new memories. This applies both to memories displayed as a large photo and to memories displayed with text.
Library
Library is the second tab in the bottom navigation bar. In your Library, you can see all your books. (If you do not have a subscription, you can only have one book.) To view the content of a book, tap the book. The book shown at the top of your Library is the one currently open in “My Open Book”.
Further down in the Library, you will find “Books shared with me”. These are books other people have created and shared with you.
If you wish to create a new book, tap the (+ Book) button at the bottom. For further information on creating a new book, see: Create a New Book.
Open Book
My open book is the third tab in the bottom navigation bar. Here, you can view all the memories stored in the book you have chosen to open. If you wish to read one of these memories you just tap on it and the memory will open. When you have opened a memory you can swipe through your memories in the book — like flipping through the pages of a book. If you wish to edit the memory - tap the pencil in the top right corner. You can also choose to share the memory - by tapping the share icon in the top corner. Read more about this under: Share a Memory. If you wish to return to the memory overview of your open book, or to the full bottom navigation bar, just tap the back arrow in the top left corner. If you wish to create a new memory in this book, tap the round (+) button at the bottom. If you wish to open another book - go to the Library and choose another book.
Photos
Photos is the forth tab in the bottom navigation bar. Photos contains three different photo albums: “Open Book Photos”, “All Used Photos”, and “Unused Photos.”
Open Book Photos The album “Open Book Photos” shows all the photos that are included in the Memory Book you currently have open. When you tap a photo in this album, the memory containing that photo opens. If a photo is used in several memories, you can swipe between those memories. If your open book is a shared book, this album will contain both your photos and photos added by others.
All Used Photos The album “All Used Photos” shows all photos that are used across all your Memory Books. When you tap a photo in this album, it opens in full size. You can swipe between these photos.
Unused Photos The album “Unused Photos” shows the photos you have imported into the app but have not yet included in a memory.
Importing photos are explained under the sections “Importing photos” further down.
Shares
Shares is the fifth tab in the bottom navigation bar. Shares contains “Shared by You” and “Shared with You.”
Shared by You Under “Shared by You”, you can see all the books and memories you have shared with family and friends who also use the Life Memories app.
Shared with You Under “Shared with You”, you can see all the books and memories that others have shared with you.
More information about how to share books and memories, change sharing rights, and add shared memories to your own books is explained in the section “Sharing Books and Memories” further down.
Search
Search can be found in the top bar next to Profile. Search helps you find memories across your own Memory Books, as well as books and memories shared with you.
You can search by text, date, and tags - or combine these criteria to make your search more specific.
Search by text Here you can search for words used in the memory title or text. Please note that the search bar does not find the names or terms used in your tags when searching by text. It only finds words written in the memory title or text. To search using tags, use the tag search option.
Search by date Here you can search for a specific date, or choose a date range if you want to find memories within a specific time period. If the only criterion you specify is a date range, all memories within this period will be found.
Search by tags You can always search using your personal tags, as they are used across all your books. You can also search using book tags, but they will only show you memories from the book you have open at the time of your search. If you search using several tags, the memories containing the highest number of the selected tags will be displayed at the top. For further information on the two different types of tags, how to create and use them, and the benefits of using tags, please see: Tags
You can combine search criteria by searching using text, date, and tags. Memories that best match your selected criteria will be displayed at the top.
Create a Memory
When you wish to create a memory, tap the “+” in the round circle on the bottom bar on the Memory Wall or in My Open Book.
When you tap “+” on the Memory Wall, a new window will open, showing which book you are about to create a memory in - which is the book you currently have open. If this is the correct book, tap OK - and you are ready to start creating a new memory. If not, tap “Select another book” and your Library will open. Choose the book you want and then tap “+” in the open book.
When you tap “+” on My Open Book the page for creating a new memory will open.
If you do not have a subscription, you can only have one memory book and will not be asked to select a book.
GOOD TO KNOW! We recommend creating one memory per day, or perhaps per week. If you put an entire holiday into one memory, it will become a very long memory. A memory can contain a maximum of 100 photos. When you create one memory per day or week, they will still appear right after each other in the Memory Book, as long as they are dated correctly - giving you a natural connection between them.
Creating a Memory On the page for writing a memory, you will see a row of icons at the top with the different elements you can use when creating your memory. Below this, there is a box for your memory title, where it already says “Write memory name”. Then comes a date box and a “Choose tags” box. Underneath, there is a field that says “Write text”, where you can write your memory text.
You choose yourself which fields you want to fill in, but a memory can only be saved once something has been written in the title field. We recommend that you fill in all the fields, as this will give you the best possible experience with the app.
Explanation of the icons in Write a Memory All the information below is also available on the page where you are about to create a memory. Tap the "circle with the question mark icon" at the top of the page, and all these icon descriptions will appear:
• (Text block icon) Tap to add a new text block. A new text box will always appear at the bottom of your memory. When you have an open text block, the button "Text style” will appear. Here you have the option to choose which font set you wish to use in that text block. If you do not select anything, it will automatically use the “Body” font set. All text in a text block will have the same font set. So if you wish to have a variety in your text, we recommend that you use several text blocks. • (Camera icon) Take a photo directly from your camera. If you decide not to use the photo and remove it from your memory, the photo will be saved in your Unused Photos album. The photo will not be saved in your mobile photo album. • (App photo icon) Insert photos that you have imported to the Life Memories app. • (Mobile photo icon) Insert photos from your mobile photo album. • (Adjust photo icon) Switch between displaying photos in original format or square. • (Undo icon) Undo the action you just did. • (Forward icon) Go forward again in your action. • (Delete icon) Delete the ENTIRE memory. When you tap the delete icon a pop-up box will appear - asking you: “Are you sure you want to delete this memory?” Yes or No. If you choose Yes, the memory will be permanently deleted and cannot be restored. • ((x) icon) Exit memory WITHOUT saving changes. • (Save icon) Save the memory.
Empty text blocks disappear when the memory is saved.
Adding Photos to a Memory
You can add photos to a memory in different ways. You can choose App Photos, which are photos you have already imported into the app, or Phone Photos, which are photos from your phone photo album.
When you choose to add photos from App Photo, the app will automatically open your Unused Photos album. Select the photos you want by tapping the small empty circle in the bottom right corner of each photo you want to include. You can also tap the photo itself to view it in full size, and then select it by tapping the circle in the top right corner - or swipe between the photos in full view. When you have selected the photos you want to include, tap the plus in the top right corner of the screen. And the photos will then be placed in your memory.
Whether you choose one or the other, you can add just one photo at a time, or select several photos at once. If you select multiple photos, the app will automatically place them in the memory - some on their own, and some side by side in rows of two or three photos. You can change the order afterwards. This is explained further below.
Photo options: When you tap on a photo in the memory, a small menu will appear. Here you will find these photo options:
• Camera - take a photo, which will be inserted next to the photo you tapped. • App Photo - insert a photo from the app next to the photo you tapped. • Phone Photo - insert a photo from your mobile photo album next to the photo you tapped. • Rotate Photo - rotates the photo 90 degrees counterclockwise each time you tap. • Split Row - moves the selected photo up to the row above, so it stands alone. • Remove Photo - deletes the photo you tapped. The photo will then be placed in your Unused Photos album.
Creating a memory from photo albums You can also create a new memory starting from your photo albums in the app. Open your Unused Photos album - tap Select - then tap the small empty circle in the bottom right corner of each photo you want to include. You can also tap the photo itself to view it in full size, and then select it by tapping the circle in the top right corner - or swipe between the photos in full view. When you have selected the photos you want to include, tap the plus in the top right corner of the screen. You will then be asked whether you want to create the memory in the book you currently have open. If not, choose another book. You will then be asked to confirm your choice. Tap OK, and the photos will be inserted into the memory. In this case, the app will automatically generate a title based on the location of your photos - if that information is available in the photo data.
Moving Elements Around If you wish to change the position of text boxes or photos, press and hold the element until it pops out. Then drag it to the position you want. When a plus appears, you can let go. It is very important that the small green plus is visible the second you let go - otherwise the element will jump back to its current position.
On the page for writing a memory, you will also find the text “Memory Construction Info”, followed by a circle with a question mark icon. When you tap this, the above information will also appear.
Memory date When you create a new memory and insert one or more photos into a memory, the memory date will automatically be set to the same date as the photos. (Unless the photos are screenshots - in that case, the app cannot detect the date.) You can always choose to set the date manually by tapping on the date. A window will open, where you can choose today’s date, another date, or a period. If you haven’t included any photos, or you manually choose a date, the date will automatically be set to the day you create the memory.
Tags
Tags are an important part of the app. They make it easy and quick to find the memories you want to revisit. So, do yourself a favour and start using them right from the beginning! For example, you can create a tag called “Travel” and apply it to all your travel memories. When you want to see all your travel memories, simply select the “Travel” tag, and only the memories with this tag will be shown. If you then wish to see only travel memories from abroad, select the tags “Travel” and “Abroad”. You can also create tags with the names of people you often spend time with and create memories with. If you then wish to see only the memories you have shared with a specific person or group of friends, simply select the tag with their name or names, and all the wonderful memories with that person or those people will be displayed.
You create the tags yourself... - so you can name them, exactly as you want them.
There are two kinds of Tags: Personal Tags (DARK GREEN) and Book Tags (LIGHT BLUE). PERSONAL TAGS: (DARK GREEN) - Can only be seen by you. So if you share a memory or a book with someone and you have used your personal Tags, the recipient will NOT see your Tags. - Can be used across all your books. So people that might accuse in many of your Memory books, you only have to make a Tag with their name once. BOOK TAGS: (LIGHT BLUE) - Can only be seen and used in the book you have open. - Can be seen by everyone who as acces to the memory or book.
GOOD TO KNOW The Value of Tags Using these two different types of tags is useful if you create a book with a completely different purpose from your other books. For example, if you create a Food Memory Book with your favourite recipes, it makes good sense to use Book Tags. You might create one tag group called “Vegetables” with tags such as “Carrots” and “Squash”. You might create another group called “Meal Type” with tags such as “Breakfast”, “Lunch”, and “Dinner”. If you then want to find a dinner recipe with carrots, simply select the tags “Dinner” and “Carrots”, and the recipes that match these criteria will be shown. Quick and easy. This is exactly why Book Tags are so useful.
If you are in a book with holiday or family memories, you do not need recipe-related tags such as “Carrots”, “Dessert”, or “Lunch” to appear in your tag overview. Book Tags help keep each book relevant and organised.
Personal Tags are especially useful for names or themes that appear across many books. For example, if one of your children, a close friend, or your partner appears in many different Memory Books, you only need to create their name once as a Personal Tag, and you can then use it again and again across all your books.
Personal Tags can also be useful for things you want to keep private. For example, you might create your own personal tags for feelings, reflections, or themes that help you organise your memories in a way that makes sense to you — without those tags being visible to others you share the book with.
We recommend sorting your tags into groups, so you have a good overview and can easily keep track of your tags.
Create Tags: To create tags, open the Tags page. You can go to the Tags page in three ways: - Open a book and tap the "Find memories with tags" button at the top. - Tap the Search icon at the top of the screen and tap the Tag icon. - When creating a new memory, tap the "Choose tags" box.
All these options take you to the Tags page, where you can create new tags. To create a new tag, tap the pencil icon in the top right corner. You will then be asked whether you want to create a “Personal Tag” or a “Book Tag.” (If you are unsure, you can always tap (x).) The difference between these two types of tags is explained above. You can create a new tag group by tapping “Add New Group.” Enter the new group name by clicking “New Group” and pressing “Return.” To add a tag to the group**,** tap (+), write the name, and press “Return.”
Examples of tag groups and tag names: Tag group: Experiences. Tag names: Birthdays, New Year, Restaurants, Exhibitions. Tag group: Friends. Tag names: John, Anna, Peter, etc. Tag group: Travel. Tag names: Domestic, Abroad, Spain, France, Denmark, Sweden, etc.
FIND MEMORIES BY USING TAGS: When you wish to find a person or a specific topic, it is easy to find it by using tags (if you have chosen to use them). - Open a book and tap the "Find memories with tags" button at the top. - Tap the Search icon at the top of the screen and tap the Tag icon.
Tap the Tags you want to search for in the Tag overview. The selected Tags will then appear in the “Selected Tags” box at the top of the page. You can deselect them again by tapping them in the box at the top. Tap “OK” - and the memories with these tags will be displayed. When you no longer wish to see memories related to the selected tags, tap (x) next to the tags shown at the top of your “My Open Book” page.
Importing photos
Importing Photos from Your Phone You can import photos into the Life Memories app in several different ways. From your phone photo album, you can select one or more photos, tap the Share button, and then choose the Life Memories app from your sharing options - where you would normally choose text message, Mail, Messenger, and similar services.
Importing Photos from the App You can also go to Photos - Unused Photos in the Life Memories app and tap the button “Import Photos” in the top right corner, then select photos from your phone photo album and import them this way. Whatever you prefer.
As mentioned above, you can also import the photos directly while creating a memory. In that case, you can add them from the photos you have already imported into the app - or you can import them from your phone photo album.
Imported Photos on the Memory Wall When you import photos to the app from your phone photo album, a window will appear on the Memory Wall showing that these photos have been imported to the app. You can choose whether you want this function on your wall. You can always turn it on or off by going to Profile - Memory Wall Settings and finding the switch “Show Imported Photos on the Wall.” If you turn it off, this window will NOT appear, and the photos will just be added to your Unused Photos album.
If more than one photo has been imported, tapping the box will open a pop-up box informing you that you are about to create a new memory with those photos and showing the book the memory will be created in. If this is not the book you wish to include the memory in - select another book from the library.
If you have imported just one photo and tap it, the photo will open. From here, you can tap the plus at the top of the screen to create a new memory with this photo.
Please note that the window with the imported photos will not disappear automatically when you use the photos in a memory, so remember to remove it yourself by tapping the (x).
Deleting photos
You can only delete photos that are in the Unused Photos album.
You cannot delete photos from the photo albums “Open Book Photos” and “All Used Photos” because these photos are used in memories. If you want to delete one of these photos, you must first remove it from the memory where it is used. If you tap a photo in “Open Book Photos”, the memory containing the photo will open. If you tap a photo in “All Used Photos”, only the photo itself will open. When a photo has been removed from all memories where it has been used, the photo will then appear in Unused Photos, where you can delete it.
To delete photos from Unused Photos, you can do it in two ways: Go to Photos - Unused Photos - tap Select in the top right corner. Then tap the transparent circles in the corner of the photos you wish to delete. When you have selected the photos, tap the bin at the top of the page. A pop-up box will then appear asking: “Are you sure you want to delete these photos?” Yes or No. If you are unsure - tap No - and then Cancel.
You can also delete a photo individually while viewing it in full size. Go to Photos - Unused Photos - tap the photo you want to view in full size. If you wish to delete it - tap the bin in the top right corner. Here too, a pop-up box will appear asking whether you are sure you want to delete the photo.
Creating a New Book:
To create a new memory book, go to "Library" (the second tab in the bottom navigation bar). Tap “+ Book” on the bottom bar and the page “Create a New Book” will appear. Here, you can select a cover image for the book by tapping the photo. You can chooe a photo from your App Photos or from your phone’s photo album. Give your book a title and a short description of the book’s content. You can always go back and edit these details later. See the section “Changing Memory Book Cover and Title.”
Save by tapping the save icon in the top right corner.
Use the switch to choose whether you wish memories from this book to appear on your Memory Wall.
On this page, you can also change the layout of the memories in this book - such as fonts, alignment, etc. For more info about this, read “Change Memory Layout".
You can also choose to share your book. For more info about this, read “Sharing Books and Memories - Share a Book” below.

The changes you have made to fonts and sizes will have an immediate effect - on both new and old memories in this book.
When creating a memory, you do not have to use all text styles. This is optional. When you create a new memory, only the TITLE and BODY styles will be used as the default layout.
On the "Change Memory Layout" page you can also choose whether you want the photos to keep their original format - or if you want them shown as square.
You can always reset all fonts and sizes to the original settings. This will have an immediate effect on all new and old memories in this book.
